Juniper Estate consistently offer what we believe to be, dollar for dollar, the best red wine from Margaret River. Not only do they have at their disposal the winemaking talents of Mark Messenger (ex-Cape Mentelle), but they own some of the most established vineyards in the region.

Here is a review of the Juniper Estate cabernet sauvignon 2003 by winorama.com.au editor Gary Walsh:

Aromas of mulberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, earth, a hint of mint and attractive cedar oak. On the palate light to medium bodied with flavours of red fruit, earth, green olive and spicy oak. It is quite fresh and fine. A claret style. Tannins are lightly grainy and maybe just this side of being fully ripe. Clean finish. Sensitive winemaking - it looks less oaky than previous richer vintages (1999 and 2001) - and makes for a highly enjoyable drink. I suspect that it will age beautifully. Rated: 90+ points. Drink: 2009 - 2015+."

Here is The Wine Advocate's review of the Juniper Estate cabernet sauvignon 2003:

"The two red offerings are outstanding. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (which was 50% barrel fermented) is dark ruby/purple in color. The classy nose offers spice and black currants as well as a bit of toastiness. The wine’s texture is supple, the tannins light and ripe, and the flavors are layered with considerable complexity. Give this Bordeaux-like effort at least 3-5 years to blossom and drink it over the next 10-15. 91+ points." Dr Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate

And here is a review of the Juniper Estate cabernet sauvignon 2003 by divineonline.com editor Andrew Wood:

"Rich, dark purple colour. Beautifully clean fruit profile of dark, ripe fruit swathed in a cloak of very sexy French oak. There are plenty of mulberry/blackcurranty characters as well as touch of lead pencil/coal dust and even a hint of spiciness evident too. The palate is all creamy and juicy, with a superfine steam train of pure, lingering, crushed-berry silkiness. Gorgeous length. Up there with the best of Margaret River reds currently available."
