Wine Spectator magzine published this review of the Alvaro Palacios Finca Dofi 2003:

 

"Rich and mouthcoating, packed with jammy fruit flavors (sic) of blackberry and black raspberry, with chocolate and coffee oak notes and accents of wild herbs and licorice. Muscular tannins lurk beneath the plush texture and there's just enough acidity to keep it fresh and balanced. Cellar: now - 2015. Rated: 94 points." Wine Spectator magazine.

 

The young Alvaro Palacios emobodies the spirit of the "New Spain". Alvaro left his native Rioja for the "backwoods" of Priorat. The region's unique terroir of steep, terraced slopes, schistous soils, and ancient vines led Alvaro to believe that he could craft world class wines here. He has since become one of Spain's biggest superstars. Alvaro makes three separate wines in Priorat. Finca Dofi, the first wine he ever produced  here, is made from 60% garnacha, 5% carninena and 35% cabernet sauvignon, syrah and merlot. It immediately garnered rave reviews.
