Juniper
Estate’s 2008 cabernet sauvignon was one of the best Australian wines
released last year. It showed it’s class at many tastings, particularly
at the Cape Mentelle international benchmarking event, where it held its
ground alongside First Growth Bordeaux at more than twenty times the
price. We loved it, and you did too. It was our best-selling premium
cabernet last year.
The
2009 has just been released. ‘08 was a hard act to follow but this
Juniper Estate ‘09 delivers in spades. It’s powerful, but controlled and
structured. It’s beautifully ripe, but wears it’s badge of Margaret
River tobacco and bayleaf with pride. It’s very long, with fine, ripe
tannins that will see it age effortlessly in a good cellar.
Over
at The Wine Front, reviewer Mike Bennie says: “First of all, length of
flavour and concentration. Phenomenal. Expectations were high, but the
over delivery of flavour, seamless flow and coursing energy in this wine
is immediately notable... Excellent Australian cabernet. Rated: 95
points.”
Winemaker Mark Messenger has delivered another beauty, and at a price that puts its more famous neighbours to shame. Buy Juniper Estate Cabernet Online.
